Ann McClellan

Maine ceramicist Ann McClellan has integrated her love of the ocean with her “Jar Series” ~ decorative vases reminiscent of 16th & 17th century Korean jar forms. Her work reflects a dedication to traditional craft, shaped by an apprenticeship in Japan followed by years of teaching and making art.  Ann honors the history of ceramics, a sensibility evident in her design choices and use of materials and methods. She uses several unique firing processes ~ including electric, salt, soda and wood. Her works are extraordinary and utterly unique.
