MOLLY BROWN
Molly combines elements of cartographic design and landscape painting to create fresh visual expressions of place with a unique perspective. Her woodblock cuts of the Maine coast —particularly her vibrant interpretations of the Boothbay, Damariscotta and Monhegan regions. She works in many mediums to create her interpretations by creating a sense of place that is simultaneously personal and planetary. Her artwork is informed by graduate research in cartographic theory, climate change, communication, and non-western mapping traditions. Molly resides in Cape Elizabeth, Maine.
