Ait Zaiane Vintage Runner 'Layla'

A subdued, vintage runner discovered in the imperial city of Meknes, Layla's quiet palette of earthy pale yellow, black and cream with hints of pale red is a dramatic contrast to the more traditional, brightly colored Zaiane style rugs. The design motif includes small diamond patterns, zig zags and other Berber symbols. The repeating triangular patterns are typical of these rugs. The Zaiane Confederation consists of a dozen or more tribes who reside in northwest Morocco between Rabat and Meknes.
