This series of mugs references a bridge Mimi passes by on her walks in Portland. She likes to imagine metaphors. The bridge connects two sides; the handle is a point of contact. The seam is a remnant of her process and visual focal point. The coming together of two sides of the form feel soft, just a bit organic, and tender.

White stoneware clay. Glazed and fired to cone 6.
