Ice Neighbors

In Mary's words~ "I had the opportunity to travel along the western coast of Greenland where people live on and around the ice. In contrast to the powerful northern lights these shelters felt so minimal yet there was safety in having a neighbor. The ice is melting there. I wanted to capture the imagined vulnerability of the very landscape on which the inhabitants reside, hence the open water in the foreground, the river of water and the frozen ground upon which the shelters stand.
